What are Karmic Numbers and how do they relate to you?
Among the numbers found and studied in the Numerology Chart, there is a special group called Karmic Numbers. They are called “Karmic” because of old-school Numerologists who focused on Theosophical ideas regarding the growth of the soul, karma and reincarnation.
Some say that they point to specific actions in previous lifetimes, but this belief is not necessary to make use of them. I don’t want to downplay the spiritual ideas involved, but I do want to emphasize that they act the same whether one uses these concepts as a backdrop for their study or not.
I like to look at them as special compound numbers, because they have properties that are different from other compound numbers. While most two digit numbers are analyzed by considering them a combination of the two digits involved, Karmic Numbers have properties that are not derived from their single-digit factors alone. They are synergetic, in that their behavior is different from the behaviors of the numbers that they include, yet do follow the path of the number they represent.
The Karmic Numbers are 13, 14, 16 and 19. One of them may turn up as a LifePath, Achievement Number, a Life Challenge, one of the personal time periods or any other important number in your chart.
The Karmic Numbers
13 is a karmic number that often shows someone who has a difficult time taking the advice of others. Often this works out in little ways, like agreeing to do something one way, and then following a different path anyway. This number does carry the practical or reliable characteristics of the “4” vibration, and is capable of stimulating an innovative and visionary attitude that can make dreams into a reality. It’s possible that a 13/4 person can be quite organized, although it is hard for them to “take somebody’s word for it” or “do it by the book” – which is atypical of the 4 family of Fadic or compound numbers.
14 is the “more is better” number that leads to excessive behavior, especially when it comes to personal pleasures. It can be a stubborn number, but is also found in people who act on impulse, or refuse to pay attention to details, the odds of their success, or the possible consequences of their actions. On a more positive note, the 14/5 can be a freedom-loving individual who is rather flexible and loves to do things in new and exciting ways. It is a number that belongs to many who enjoy life to the fullest, as long as they stay focused on moderation and don’t over-react to the sudden changes that often come their way. In other words, it is probably the most compulsive of the 5 family of numbers.
16 will often indicate someone who can find themselves in difficult situation when they don’t follow their intuition or hunches, because they are prone to trust more deeply in their expectations and logic. Sometimes people with this number get involved in others problems, and although the intentions are good, it’s likely that they’ll end up feeling hurt when their advice is not appreciated. The spiritual and analytical qualities of the “7” allows the 16/7 to see both sides of an issue, but it is absolutely necessary for the bearer of this Karmic number to learn to listen to their heart and believe in what their feelings are telling them. This can be a difficult path until one learns to trust in others and in divine guidance.
19 is one of the hardest Karmic Numbers to work with, because it carries the vibrations of the masculine beginning (1) and the feminine conclusion (9). It will often create an internal conflict between being overly forceful and overly compliant; being tyrannical one day and compassionate the next. The path of a person with 19/1 as one of the key numbers is to find the balance between these extremes, the middle-ground between possibly drastic solutions. There may also be difficulty with authority figures, especially during the formative cycle, or during the first 20 years of life. When the balance is achieved, one can become a self-directed, balanced, compassionate leader whose energetic guidance system leads them to success.
The knowledge of how these numbers work can be of great help when working with Numerology charts. Even if you only have a few basic techniques at your disposal, they can help you understand some of the underlying motives behind your decisions, and those of others. By learning the ins and outs of these special numbers, you may find it easy to look within and discover balance, self-understanding and growth.
