PinAs we all begin our sojourn into the Master 11/2 Universal Year, let’s investigate the ways we can have the greatest success by taking the best care of ourselves as we possibly can this year.  The 11/2 Universal Year is a spiritually illuminating year with a spotlight on love, relationships, and emotions.  It’s also turbo-charged with the double 1’s of the 11, which bring in a jolt of concerted action, independence, individuality, and demands innovation.  The backdrop for the year is pretty intense and certainly not for the weak willed!

The Personal Year offers your more immediate “theme” for the year.  While everyone globally is working with the energy of the Master 11/2, all of us are also working more intimately with the energy related to our Personal Year Cycle.

Example Calculation for the Personal Year:

Take the date of birth: June 18, 1990

Use only the MONTH and DAY:

June is 6:  6

Day is 18: 1 + 8 = 9

Then use the CURRENT YEAR.

2018 = 2 + 0 + 1 + 8 = 11

11 is a Master number

Now add the month, day, and current year together.

6 + 9 + 11 = 26

2 + 6 =  8

In this example, you would experience an 8 Personal Year in 2018.

Self-Care Tips Based On Your Personal Year Number

Personal Year #1

1 – This Personal Year is intense and action-packed.  You’ll need to physically schedule downtime in your calendar for yourself.  Get out your Google Calendar or your day timer right now and plug in a bi-monthly massage, energy work, or therapy session.  This is the least you can do for your over-active mind during your initiating 1 Personal Year.  This is the final year of a three-year transition cycle and you must be fairly fatigued at this point.  Given that the theme of your year is “new beginnings,” your self-care can focus on cultivating something new that you’ve perhaps just run across or that’s intrigued you for a while and yet you’ve put off finding out more about it.  A friend has had amazing results with a new workout or diet?  You might ask them for more details.  You ran across a video about conscious breathing and now find out there’s someone who teaches it in your town or city?  Maybe you find out how to sign up for the introductory course.  This is the perfect year to dive into something new that will expand and improve your life in years to come.

Personal Year #2

2 – This Personal Year is emotional and requires the development of patience.  Group activities are highlighted for you this year.  Join a dance class, head over to the yoga studio, or find out more about that meditation group you’ve been interested in. The more engaged with other people you can be this year, the better you’ll feel.  There’s a focus on healthy emotional expression and also healthy emotional detachment.  Depending on where you feel you are in the “doormat” department, this is the time to step into yourself in a deep way.  If you feel you’re a people pleaser to your detriment it’s the time to seek out books, courses, and other tools for uncovering why this is a reoccurring issue and how you can strengthen your own identity.  If that’s not so much of an issue for you, this is a time to extend yourself and engage with others on an emotional level.  Perhaps you’ll be propelled to get closer with your intimate partner and decide on some new mutual activities you can do together to build your emotional intimacy.

Personal Year #3

3 – This Personal Year is (hopefully!) lighter and full of self-improvement.  Time for a mind/body/spirit upgrade!  Depending on what you’re personally working on as a priority in your life, this is your year for a physical makeover—new haircut or color?  Get into the Pilates Studio?  Spice up the wardrobe? Your self-care can fall more into the emotional realm and you might find yourself called to learn more about certain healing modalities, go on a spiritually based retreat, or finally take up playing the drums.   Anything supporting your creativity and healthy self-expression is favored this year.  Travel is a good choice for the 3 Personal Year and finding your joy in whatever way possible is right in alignment with the energy of your year.  Anything that allows you to strengthen your communication skills and use your creativity is exactly what you need to focus on.  Has a friend invited you to be a member of Toast Masters?  Do you have an opportunity to take the stage in some way, either through your writing, acting, singing, or other performance-related activity?  Whatever brings you a zing of positive energy, do it!

Personal Year #4

4 – This Personal Year is all about working smarter (not necessarily harder!) and setting up systems that support your ventures for the next five years and beyond.  The 4 also governs health, so self-care is a must for you this year.  You’ll be tempted to skip the workout, default to quick meals, or burn the midnight oil.  Anything that offers you relaxation and physical (and mental) flexibly is right on the mark.  Schedule short weekend breaks and extract yourself from your work environment on a consistent basis.  Slow and steady wins your race this year.  Focus on physical flexibility (yoga, pilates, stretching) and on mental clarity (therapy, meditation, energy work, proper breathing).  Family issues might come bubbling to the surface, so if therapy or some other tool comes across your desk, it’s the optimal time to devote time and energy to healing some of those old family issues and wounds.  You’ll feel a good amount of tension and stress this year so relaxation is your mantra!  Make any kind of relaxation technique part of your daily routine, even if it’s five minutes of deep breathing at your desk or a brisk walk around the building at noon.  Don’t neglect yourself.

Personal Year #5

5 – This Personal Year is all about change and freedom.  The tendency this year is toward self-indulgence and excess.  Sex appeal is at an all time high right now.  Self care for you resides in reigning in excessive behaviors, whether that shows up as drinking alcohol, drug use, sex, over work—wherever you act without much restraint.  The more you can stick to a light routine the better off you’ll be.  Have fun, try new things—yet don’t overdo it.  Be as consistent as you can with a reasonable diet, exercise, and whatever other healthy practices you usually engage in.  This year can find you scattered and over-scheduled.  Or alternately you can be faced with some of your biggest fears.  Either way, self-care rests in your ability to have fun and also not over-indulge.  Pay special attention to keeping your diet on track and work on consistency in whatever you do.  Drink plenty of water.  Keep moving.  Take a break now and again.

Personal Year #6

6 – This Personal Year is all about responsibility and relationships.  The best thing you can do for yourself this year is learn how to care for yourself as well as you care for others.  This is the year for couples therapy, individual therapy, or any avenue where you can learn more about yourself and the way you love and want to be loved.  If single and ready to find your “one,” it’s a great time to open yourself to that possibility.  If you’re involved with someone, it’s time to confirm or “up level” your commitment.  Seek out that gym membership, take a healthy cooking class, or join the hiking club. You’ll benefit from engaging with like-minded and relationship-ready people or by bringing your current partner into a new activity.

Personal Year #7

7 – This Personal Year is all about introspection and planning.  One of the key elements to the 7 Personal Year is taking the time to deal with health maintenance that you may have been putting off because of your busy schedule.  Take the down time needed to do that surgical procedure, do the dental work, or anything else that needs a bit more healing time than you’re usually willing to devote to yourself.  This is the perfect year for a spiritually based retreat or sabbatical where you can take in some new knowledge and test new skills.  Unplug near water or in nature as often as you can.  Pay attention to your intuitive voice extra close this year.  It’s speaking to you consistently and yet you must be calm and quiet enough to hear its message.

Personal Year #8

8 – This Personal Year is all about finances and personal empowerment.  This is an extremely intense year and it will test all of your reserves—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  It’s mandatory that you reserve time for self-care—otherwise you can suffer physical and mental exhaustion.  Physical fitness is at the forefront because you need to burn off stress.  If you’re a runner, make sure you stick to your schedule.  Bike rider?  Tennis?  Hockey?  Any sport where you can sweat it out is great for you.  Then you need the yin to the yang—make sure you don’t neglect the mind and spirit.  Interested in that new isolation tank/float center that opened up in the mini-mall you keep seeing on the drive into work?  Stop in next time and make an appointment.  Yoga, meditation (of course) will do wonders.  The trick is to make the time and give yourself permission to take a break during this high velocity year.  Funny movies, TV shows that make you laugh, or heading to the live comedy club can do wonders for your disposition.

Personal Year #9

9 – This Personal Year is all about completions and letting go.  This is a big year for you and it’ll require some concerted effort to keep yourself from freaking out on occasion.  It’s a time for transformation and transition—yet who’s really good at that, right?  Any kind of self-care focused on assisting you in moving through transitions is on the docket this year.  If talk therapy works best for you, don’t miss a session.  If bodywork (massage, acupuncture, Reiki) is more your thing, get some sessions scheduled.  Educating yourself on how to successfully deal with change will be very useful.  There are so many books, courses, videos and other self-help tools that can offer you solace and a foundation for whatever changes you’re going through.  Understand that this is a big year for you and you will benefit greatly from going with the flow and not resisting the transitions.
