As a teacher of Pythagorean Numerology, I am passionate about how our Ruling Number or Life Path Number influences and guides us in our life. Each comes with its own color vibrations that can help you to recognize patterns and traits so that you can overcome your biggest challenges and become the best version of yourself.

To calculate your ruling number simply add up all of the numbers in your date of birth and reduce it down to the lowest single digit. This rule applies to all numbers aside from 10, 11 and 22 (which becomes a 22/4).

For example, my date of birth is 16/10/1972 so the equation will look like this 1+6+1+1+9+7+2 = 27
2+7 = 9
So I am a Ruling Number 9…Simple eh? Have you got it?

Ruling Number 2

The Moon – Pale Blue over Royal Blue

This bottle governs peace, cycles, seasons, trust, protection and faith.
Because number 2 is a feminine number and sits on the emotional plane, you are likely to be very sensitive and intuitive. Partnerships will be very important to you and your feelings will be pronounced. These colors will help you to take responsibility for your spoken word and offer assistance if you find it challenging to express yourself with compassion or making yourself heard. Jupiter – Coral over Coral

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. It is huge, powerful and expansive. A typical 3 likes personal growth and expansion too but are often held back by a lack of self-worth and self-acceptance. 3s can be analytical, inspiring and imaginative. Coral is the color of the new Christ Ray. It is unconditional love (pink) mixed with wisdom (yellow) signaling a moving away from old patterns of giving your power away and reclaiming who you truly are on the planet. Coral helps you to unconditionally accept yourself with love and compassion so you can recognize yourself as a Christed human. Number 3 sits on the mental plane and governs memory.

Uranus – Yellow over Deep Green

Uranus is all about change, clearing, choices and letting go. It is the planet of the future and reminds us when it is time to clear away everything that no longer serves your highest good. These colors will help you to let go of old outdated beliefs, structures, people and places that are not in alignment with your truth. Number 4 sits on the physical plane so is a very practical and material number. Ruling 4s can, therefore, be tidy, meticulous, practical, organized and very reliable. They like structure and order and with the influence of Uranus can help to break down the old foundations of life that do not align with the new golden age.

Mercury – Green over Pale Green

5 is the number of discipline, freedom, movement and letting go of old masks. Mercurial energy is quick-minded and, because it sits at the center of the emotional plane, feels things very intensely. It relates to the versatile, expressive Gemini so everything needs to be upfront and honest in communication. Issues can arise in discipline, freedom, change and new beginnings so the only way to be truly free is to be honest with yourself. Green is the color of the heart chakra and the entertaining, adventurous and sociable 5 needs love and freedom of expression both emotionally and physically to be truly happy.

Venus – Pale Pink over Pale Pink

Venus is the planet of love and relates to unconditional love, harmony and joy in relationships. The 6 needs to be creative and nurturing within their home environment and family are extremely important to them. Pink offers a very feminine love so it is critical that 6s treat themselves to their own mothering, nurturing energy. The lesson here is to learn that love from the outside arrives when you reach a place of deep self-acceptance and self-love. Neptune is the Roman God of the Sea and reveals the depths of our sub-conscious and our spirituality. Because of this you are very well equipped to listen to the troubles of other people and are a fantastic peace-bringer to those suffering difficulties. You use your clairvoyance and intuition to heal others but tend to carry your own burdens alone as you like to learn through your own experiences. Trusting is imperative otherwise you may have to learn your lessons through sacrifice.

Ruling Number 8

Saturn – Pale Violet over Deep Violet

Saturn is old father time and understands that anything new needs to be built on solid foundations. Persistence is key so rushing things will only lead to a poor end result. Spiritually 8s are all about wisdom and physically require independence to thrive. However, they must stop the self-judgement and allow themselves to receive the gifts of their own nurturing energy. Trying to control everything will only lead to disappointment. 8s bring wisdom and a deeper understanding of our greater selves but need to overcome feelings of restriction and burden and look for the deeper gifts within.

Mars – Red over Orange

Mars is powerful and warlike. It is fire energy encapsulated. Number 9 sits on the mental plane so 9s are ambitious, idealistic and wise and know that they must take inspired action to achieve their goals. At heart, they are a humanitarian, healer, artist and wise counsellor, born to help people thrive but have an idealistic view on life. Red energy is assertive so harness it to say what needs saying at the right time or you may be left feeling angry and frustrated. Remember not to be meek and mild. Take action and change what needs changing.

Wheel Of Fortune – Gold over Olive Green

The Wheel in traditional tarot reminds you that a cycle has ended. In the same way, the 1 denotes a new beginning. Fresh things on the horizon, a golden age to explore. These colors relate to Egyptian power. Remember who you were during this period of history. Gold authentic wisdom in the conscious mind to activate the feminine power within. Olive is green of the heart mixed with yellow of the solar plexus. This is a soft, feminine power that can never be misused. 10s are confident, adaptable and fearless but prefer not to burden themselves on other people so may tend to keep their acquaintances fairly superficial. Use these colors to activate your ancient feminine wisdom.

Ruling 11

Duality – Deep Magenta over Clear

These colors reveal a lack of unity. Polar extremes. This denotes a difficulty in making decisions as the two elements oppose. Remember 11 is a Master Number so great lessons to learn during this lifetime which may test you to the limits. However, it may be your last look at issues of separation so embrace the challenge. You are here to guide humanity forward into the golden age of Aquarius with all the practical know-how that you need to achieve your vision. To do this connect to the Magenta Ray and let go and let God. Hand it all over to a higher power and release fear. This is the journey of the healer.
