Happy 2016 everyone!
As you may have already heard, 2016 is a 9 year.
2+0+1+6 = 9
9 is a number of completion. A 9 year is the end of a cycle. And it is a year to reveal, release and heal before we move on to our new cycles.
9 is also The Hermit card in Tarot. It is the number of the Sage, who also has come to a completion of the stages of development and initiation.
As a Sage, The Hermit is also the Teacher/Student archetype. The teacher and student are linked, as the teacher often becomes the student, and the student often becomes a teacher. It is a reciprocal relationship, since we learn as we teach, and vice versa.
Diving Within
The Hermit represents seeking the inner self and their inner truth through solitude, separating himself from external reference, and looking deep within to find the answers.
This card is also linked to the sign Virgo, as well as the 6th House, in astrology. The Virgin symbol is misunderstood as representing a sexual status. Rather, it represents the interlinked themes of wholeness, integrity and purity. Like wiping the fog off of a car window, we can purify; wipe away and release all that gets in the way of our integrity, and find the wholeness of the view that was always there- the fully integrated authentic self. For me, that is what healing truly means. Healing is finding our wholeness again.
Strength & Service
Virgo is the analyzer. They rule the phrase: “I analyze”. They also rule the digestive system, that sifts and sorts through matter. In this way, we can sift and sort through our experiences the past 9 years. What lessons have we gleaned from them? Know that no experience is a waste.
The 6th house governs not only health, but also service. Moving from the 5th House and Leo, the powerful, heart-centered leader, we face what next to do with our strength. We come to a place of service.
The 6th House also governs our work, and our day to day routines, so we may see these factors come into play as well.
This year, in astrology, all of our personal North Nodes, which indicate our missions for the year, are in Virgo. In 2015, which was an 8 year, our North Nodes were in Libra- which is also linked to card number 8 in Tarot- Justice. Moving from 8 to 9, I believe we may find opportunities to experience and work with all of the themes mentioned here.
Again, our themes for the year may include:
Completion – Revealing, Releasing and Healing in order to promote our own growth and move more into our authenticity
Seeking Wholeness – Integrity-Purity (who are you? what is your truth?)
The archetype of the Teacher/Student
Service – the highest role and position we can hold, for the good of all
also…
Health – addressing health issues; nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, etc. may become points of focus here
Work – matters of employment/vocation
Day to Day Routines – does that need attention and improvement?
Organization – getting things in order (see what house your Virgo North Node is in on your solar return chart to see what aspect of your life may need this the most)
Wishing you all the best for 2016!
Love,
Ellie
